Information Session for Women Entrepreneurs, December 2023
On December 6th, Collective Interchange hosted an information session for women entrepreneurs, in collaboration with PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise. In this session, PARO presented information about their services, which support women in small and medium sized businesses, as well as in social enterprises.

CPA Financial Literacy Workshop, May 2023
The CPA Financial Literacy Workshop was an educational workshop for immigrant women focusing on education regarding the Canadian banking system, hosted in partnership with the Women’s Economic Council. This workshop provided practical information and examples regarding accounts, building credit, credit cards, loans, mortgages, and more.
Women’s Rights Workshop in partnership with St. John’s Women’s Centre, April 2023
The St. John’s Women’s Centers’ Women’s Rights Workshop was created using information gathered from a immigrant women centered focus group. The purpose of this focus group and subsequent workshop was to find the most frequently raised concerns immigrant women had regarding their rights in Canada, and have the workshop provide information and resources regarding these topics.

The Women’s Rights focus group at the St. John’s Women’s Centre was an event to gain insight into the lived experiences of women, and use this information to develop resources and tools that will help and support women in both a professional and personal capacity.
Up Skills for Work Problem Solving Workshop in partnership with ABC Life Literacy Canada, November 2022
The Up Skills for Work Problem Solving Workshop was an event hosted in partnership with ABC Life Literacy Canada. This workshop focused on the importance of problem solving, what problem solving skills are, and how to apply problem solving skills in your day-to-day life.
Employment and Capacity Building Event with Employment Services, October 2022
The Employment and Capacity Building Event was an event hosted for Immigrant Women in partnership with the Women’s Economic Council, the Multicultural Women’s Organization of Newfoundland & Labrador, Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador, YWCA St. John’s, the Salvation Army, the Murphy Centre, and the Association for New Canadians NL. This event provided information about free employment services, and connected participants with specific service providers within the community.
Co-operative Development Workshop, September 2022
The Co-operative Development Workshop was an event hosted in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Co-operatives and the Women’s Economic Council. This workshop for immigrant women and non-binary individuals focused on getting an introduction to and learning more about the co-operative business model.
Community Engagement and Capacity Building Event, July 2022
The Community Engagement and Capacity Building Event was an informative and collaborative event in partnership with Choices for Youth, Froude Avenue Community Centre, Stella’s Circle, the St. John’s Women’s Centre, and Teachers on Wheels. This event was an opportunity for immigrant women to become connected with service providers, as well as for the service providers to receive feedback from the participants regarding how to make their services and resources as accessible as possible.
